John Deere 2030 Restoration - Daniel McCrory

This project was sent in by Daniel McCrory of his late grandads John Deere 2030.

'I recently started to fix up and am hoping to finish restore next year. It’s been a real labour of love. Some of the jobs included replacing the rear cross shaft which took a whole day of hammering to get the old bushes out but was worth it as it no longer has an oil addiction. Other work like replacing the coolant hoses and a water pump rebuild along with rebuilding the starter motor and then the luxury item of a new seat from Anglo Agriparts. It caused me a financial disaster as one day after coming back from my tea both the tyres which where perished as they where fitted from factory had both produced new punctures and I had no choice but to bite the bullet and order a new set . The tractor is now away to a friends as it needs a set of pistons and liners and me being 16 haven’t yet got the knowledge to do so my self. I have included a picture of the tractor from 18 years ago when it was still a front line tractor.'
