London To Brighton 2021 For Erase MESO

A massive congratulations to the Anglo Agriparts family team on completing the London to Brighton on 20th Sept 2021.

Owner and founder Alastair McHarg, Managing Director John McHarg and Stuart McHarg all took on the 54 mile event with over 4000 cyclists. The London to Brighton Cycle Ride starts from Clapham Common in London to Madeira Drive on Brighton sea front.

The team were raising money for Erase Meso - a community committed to raising funds to research a cure for mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a terminal cancer caused by exposure to asbestos dust and fibres. The cancer usually develops in the lining that covers the outer surface of the body's vital organs. Over the years farmers have been exposed to asbestos in contaminated vermiculite products, older farm buildings — including farmhouses, barns, silos, pens and sheds and asbestos cement pipes used as field drains on farmlands. Mesothelioma takes a long time to develop, It’s normal for people to get the first symptoms 30 to 40 years after they were first exposed to asbestos. The UK has the highest incidence of mesothelioma in the world, with more than 5000 people diagnosed each year. There is no current cure and treatments are limited.
