Cylinder Head - Case International Harvester

This arrived well packed in a metal reinforced plywood box - it is a heavy item so handle with care.

Not only did this unit include valves, springs and caps as in the photograph.

The casting seems to be of good quality with the machined finish being to a high level. Sharp edges after machining have also been relieved which makes handling safer.

The head does not come with studs for manifolds or injector fitting. These are all 3/8" UNC and it would have been nice to have them included or available from Anglo Agriparts, but they were never offered so this is just something for the wish list.

A recent single valve guide replacement and valve seat cutting at the local engineering company was about the same as this replacement with so many additional new parts, when a similar situation occurs then I'll just order a new head.
This head is advertised as only for the BD154 engines but, as far as I know, should also fit the BD144. The BD154 has double valve springs (vs single on the BD144) which allow the engine to rev faster and different injector nozzle spacers which increase the compression ration slightly. My B275 has the BD154 spacers in its original head and is an easy starter which I put down, at least in part, to the slightly increased compression ratio.

All told nothing but praise for this cylinder head and I just hope they can keep them in stock.
