Ferguson TED20 - Installing The Pistons - Video Tutorial

Progress is being made! - In their latest video Gordon & Oscar install the pistons - the beating heart of an engine.  Combined with piston rings they perform the crucial task of creating an airtight seal between the combustion chamber and the crankcase. The pressure allows the piston to move up and down within the hollow cylinder of the engine block.  This process transfers force from expanding gas to the crankshaft via a connecting rod forcing it to rotate.

'We got to the exciting part of installing the pistons. Assembling the pistons, conrods, rings etc. and then installing them into the engine. In this video we step through the process and highlight the things to watch out for and to take note of. Hope you enjoy it.'

On their smallholding in north Devon Gordon, Kathy and Oscar spend many weekends working on their land and their tractors.  In this instructional video Gordon and Oscar takes you through the steps to fit the pistons.
